If you export a QuickTime movie from Motion 3.0.2 on an Intel-based Mac, the resulting file may play with visual artifacts or other anomalies. This issue can occur with Motion 3.0.2 and Quicktime version 7.4 or later. In some cases, QuickTime Player may unexpectedly quit when playing back an H.264-encoded movie exported from Motion 3.0.2.

About the MPEG-2 component included with iMovie '08

iMovie '08 includes an MPEG-2 component that provides import support for certain iMovie '08 compatible MPEG-2 video cameras. This MPEG-2 component does not provide import/export functionality for MPEG-2 files in iMovie '08 or QuickTime. In order to play back MPEG-2 files in QuickTime, you need the MPEG-2 Playback Component.
