We are seeking a contractor experienced with OSX (OS9 and NeXT may work too) at the applications and network layers. At this time we've got a java-based application that has been ported to OSX and we need assistance troubleshooting and making it work (part of this may involve figuring out we cannot do what we want to do, which will lead to a re-write native to OSX). The code itself sits in the area where the OS, file system, network layers and applications layers interact. Because of this we are seeking someone that's developed networked applications that are native to OSX. These applications must be more than just browser-based apps as the experience we are seeking involves the ability to do extensive troubleshooting in the network layers (http, ssl, tcp, etc.). This is an immediate 3 month contract and could turn into a permanent position for the right person.
